Over 20 Years of Experience
Playing in the dirt has been a part of John Shepherd, Southern Cross Company founder’s, life for as long as he can remember. Raised by avid gardeners who loved making their yards beautiful with an abundance of blooming flowers, fresh vegetables, and plenty of hard work, John’s love for the outdoors began at an early age.
As a young guy, he started out like most teenagers driving around the neighborhood with his dad’s mower aspiring to be a businessman. Through the years, he tried his hand with different professions in the construction industry, growing his skill set and attending post-secondary education to acquire more knowledge.
While working with a few industry professionals including a prestigious design/build company, John’s formal education and hands-on experience with landscape design and outdoor living grew by leaps and bounds. In 2015, John, with his wife Jennifer, made the decision to step out on faith and establish Southern Cross Outdoors. Their focus was on creating beautiful outdoor living spaces for the families and businesses in their community just south of Atlanta, Georgia. In 2020, as their business and passion continued to grow, they expanded to become Southern Cross Company. This expansion included the addition of full scale design and outdoor living construction and gunite and fiberglass pools.
With over 20 years of experience and a passion for creating exterior spaces to give families a beautiful backdrop for incredible lifelong memories, John and his team are more than prepared to lead you to success. We love what we do and we look forward to serving you on your next project!
